For home EV charger installers

Your customer gets an indicative price and installation date, without a call or a site visit. You approve it first.

You do the visit. You write the quote. Someone else gets the job.

  1. Maya wants a home charger.
  2. She asks three installers for a quote. One of them is you.
  3. Then the phone tag starts: missed calls and voicemails on both sides.
  4. Nobody can price it without a visit, so two installers come to look and she takes two mornings off work.
  5. Three quotes arrive, and none of them compare: different prices, different scope, no firm date.
  6. She still has no installation date in the diary.
  7. Maya asked three installers. Only one gets the job. The other two did all that work for nothing.

01 Guided enquiry

She starts on your website. Trade guides her through the job.

Maya taps Start your enquiry on your EV page. Trade asks where she parks, where the charger should go, and for photos of her meter and consumer unit. Each answer shapes the next question, all on her phone, in her own time.

Not sure? Trade helps. When Maya can't measure the cable route, Trade explains how, and leaves the check for you.

Trade Let's plan your home charger

I need a home EV charger for October.

Where do you park at home?

On my driveway, beside the house.

For the driveway, show me where you'd like the charger.

Next, add your meter and consumer-unit photos. Keep the covers closed.

How far is that wall from your consumer unit? Any paving to cross?

I'm not sure how to measure it.

Follow the cable path around corners. If you're unsure, your installer can check.

Your details and photos are together. I've kept the electrical checks for your installer.

02 Indicative offer

An indicative price. And a proposed time.

Maya asks what it's likely to cost and when. Trade prepares an indicative offer with a price and an installation slot, then sends it to you for review before anything is agreed.

Your indicative offer

Home charger installation

Charger at the driveway wall · equipment and installation allowance

Installation package £950

Ready for trade review

03 Your review

Review the job. Approve when you're ready.

Answers, photos, price and time arrive together. The checks that need a professional (cable route, earthing, bonding, capacity) are flagged for you, never guessed. Need another photo or a measurement? Ask, and Trade goes back to Maya for it. Nothing reaches her until you approve.

04 Accepted online

Maya receives your approved offer. And accepts online.

She checks the scope, the terms, the price and the date, then accepts. The job is agreed, and nobody had to find a time to talk.

  • Nothing goes out without you

Every indicative offer waits for your review. You approve the price and the time before your customer can accept.

Would you use Trade with your customers?

We're looking for a small number of trades to start using Trade with real customers, starting with home EV charger installation.

Give us an honest answer. A "not for me" or an "only if…" helps us as much as a yes, especially if you tell us why.

  • No sign-up or payment. We'll reply personally.
  • A short conversation about how you quote today.
  • Early trades help shape what Trade becomes.
Would you use Trade with your customers?

Straight answers.

Is Trade available now?

Not yet. What you've seen is a prototype walkthrough with an example job and example pricing. We're talking to trades now so the first version is shaped by how you actually work.

Does it replace site visits completely?

No. It's designed so that many jobs can reach an agreed offer without one. Where a job needs you on site, it still does, and you make that call.

Who decides the price and the date?

You do. Trade prepares an indicative offer from the job details, but your customer can't accept anything until you've reviewed and approved it.

Which jobs does it suit?

Home EV charger installation. That's where we're starting, and the first version is built around how installers price and book those jobs.

What will it cost me?

We haven't set pricing yet. We want to understand how you quote today and what Trade would be worth to you first. If you have a view, tell us in the form.

What happens after I reply?

We'll get in touch personally for a short conversation about how you quote today. There's no sign-up, no payment and no mailing list.
